Ohclocknee River Bridge

At one time new members of Pine Hill Baptist Church were baptized in the Ochlockonee River near the old iron bridge on Hadley Ferry Road. Several years ago a baptismal pool was added in the Sanctuary, and a large mural of this bridge was placed on the wall behind the baptismal pool. Many things have changed since then, but today the past meets the present as we worship together.

Our Purpose

The exact date that Pine Hill Baptist Church was established is unknown. The earliest document found is a letter written by a confederate soldier referencing Pine Hill Church. Pine Hill has gone through many changes since that time but one thing remains the same, our basic purpose is to follow Jesus. Two of the most important lessons Jesus ever taught was the Great Commandment and Great Commission:

Great Commandment:

“Jesus said, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments.’” ~ Matthew 22:36-40

Great Commission:

“Jesus said, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.’” ~ Matthew 28:19-20

building on a strong foundation

We are a growing church, on a strong foundation with a wonderful pastor, Charles Parker, who balances unapologetically preaching the word of God while loving the church. We are supported by strong and faithful members who serve in places of leadership and teaching roles, and we have a vibrant young group of new believers on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings learning what it means to follow Jesus Christ.
