...our basic purpose is to follow Jesus.

The exact date that Pine Hill Baptist Church was established is unknown. The earliest document found is a letter written by a confederate soldier referencing Pine Hill Church. Pine Hill has gone through many changes since that time but one thing remains the same, our basic purpose is to follow Jesus. Two of the most important lessons Jesus ever taught was when he was asked what is the Greatest Commandment, and the last instructions He gave to His disciples known as the Great Commission:

The Great Commandment:

“Jesus said, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments.’” ~ Matthew 22:36-40

The Great Commission:

“Jesus said, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.’” ~ Matthew 28:19-20

We believe that our mission is:

to evangelize our community, state, country, and world through proclaiming the Word of God and calling people everywhere to follow Jesus Christ through faith. Coming to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and making a public profession of faith in Him is one of the most important decisions a human being will ever make. Our hope is you find any way possible to this decision.

to exalt the name of Jesus Christ through individual and corporate worship... in other words find a church, any church, and become an active part of it. We would love for you to join our church, but we want you to find a church that is right for you.

to disciple new Christians for the work in service to others, so the body may grow in the knowledge of the Son of God, to become mature disciples, and to fulfill the obligation of what it means to follow Jesus. We want you to become a Christian, but also grow and mature as a Christian.

to fellowship by means of encouraging one another and building up the body into a community of faith, through the friendship and the love of Christ. One of the favorite ways Pine Hill practices fellowship is enjoying a meal together, and we have some really good cooks! We are also a praying church, and place our complete trust in the power of prayer!

to serve our community by identifying people who are in need and aggressively using available resources to meet those needs in the name of Christ. Pine Hill has always been blessed and we seek ways to share God's blessing with those in need.
