Seminole Pulling for a Gator?
Maybe you’ve heard of Tim Tebow, and maybe not. As a Seminole fan, over the last 4-5 years, I’ve found it hard to pull for the guy because he’s so good, and beat FSU every time he played them. Without a doubt, I am a Seminole fan, but my first team is the Church. Tim Tebow is taking a lot of heat right now, not because of his Quarterbacking skills, but simply for his willingness to show his faith. Many people say God’s not particularly interested in football, and I would have to agree. I do think that one of the things that God is interested in, is that you thank Him, and give Him praise when you perform well in whatever job He has blessed you with.
I’m pulling for Tebow, read the story linked here.
BTW: I’m pulling for Christian Ponder too. He used to play for FSU and now plays for the Vikings in case you’re interested…
Good vs. Evil
I was doing some reading on a website and came accross this old Indian story that I wanted to share, about the battle of doing what’s right.
An indian grandfather was trying to explain to his grandson, how the battle of good vs. evil lives inside each of us. He told his grandson that there are two wolves living inside us, one of them white and the other black. The white one is the good one, and the black the evil one. He told his grandson that the two wolves are in constant battle with one another. Sometimes the white wolf seems like he may win, but then the black wolf seems to regain dominance and is ready to defeat the white wolf. The little boy could hardly wait to ask, “So who wins the fight?”
The grandfather said….”The one you feed.”
When I read that I couldn’t help but think about some of my own demons. We always play the victim, thinking that we are being relentlessly attacked by the evil one. We are like the man the old Indian Grandfather describes, we feed our evil wolf, and starve the good one…no wonder the evil wolf keeps winning!
